Joshua “JTan” Tannehill serves as the manager of the cybersecurity team for Bollinger Shipyards. Headquartered in Lockport, LA, Bollinger Shipyards has grown to become the largest privately-owned shipyard in the United States, with a significant presence in the Gulf Coast region. Operating in the maritime space and as a US National Defense contractor, cybersecurity is of the utmost importance and Mr. Tannehill works to understand, manage, and reduce cyber risks and respond to cyber events as they arise.

In addition to his full-time responsibilities to Bollinger Shipyards, Mr. Tannehill, who likes to be called “JTan”, volunteers as the Vice President of the Acadiana Region of the Louisiana Chapter of InfraGard, which is a public/private partnership with the FBI to protect critical infrastructure. Mr. Tannehill is a Chief Warrant Officer 3 for the Louisiana State Guard (LASG) and currently serves as the Commander, of the LASG Cyber Reserve Team, which is an all-volunteer state defense force with a mission of serving as a force multiplier for Louisiana’s Governor’s Office of Homeland Security Emergency Protection (GOHSEP) teams and the Louisiana National Guard, should the need for vetted and trained cybersecurity incident response volunteers present itself. He is the President of the Louisiana Chapter of the Cloud Security Alliance, VP of the SWLA Cyber Club, and the VP of SAFENet, which is a non-profit organization with a mission of educating and protecting Louisiana’s elderly population from online fraud, scams, and cybersecurity related issues.

A retired Master Sergeant (E-7) from the Louisiana Air National Guard, JTan brings over 29 years of IT/Cybersecurity and leadership experience across many domains an industries. He is an Iraq war veteran who deployed to the US Embassy in Baghdad in 2005 while on active duty for the US Air Force and he retired as the 159th Fighter Wing Cybersecurity Offices manager in charge of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) for the entire Louisiana Air National Guard’s mission after 21 years of combined military service. With previous civilian roles working as a cybersecurity compliance contractor for the US Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) at Hurlburt Field in Florida and the US Army at Fort Polk in Louisiana, as well as working Trust and Safety for Lumen Technologies, cybersecurity has become a passion of his.

JTan the cybersecurity man lives in Lake Charles, LA since 2010 and enjoys volunteering in his community with a focus on cybersecurity and military veteran causes. He loves his country and his state and is both patriotic and “state-triotic”.
