Charles “Chuck” Everette

Chuck Everette serves as CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) for the City of Fort Lauderdale, leading cyber risk reduction across municipal services with critical infrastructure dependencies. He also serves as a Field CISO Advisor at ESET, advising leadership teams on security strategy, threat intelligence integration, and incident readiness. Prior roles include other CISO leadership responsibilities, plus hands-on experience across IT operations, security engineering, and incident response.
Chuck brings 20+ years in IT and 15+ years in security leadership. He has managed security teams responsible for protecting the United States financial backbone, supporting high-volume environments where uptime and integrity are mission-critical. He has also worked with multiple government agencies on anti-terrorism, anti-money laundering, and investigations tied to other financial crimes.

From risk assessment and identification of potential threats and hazards, to understanding the vulnerabilities of these systems, and the complex interdependencies and cascading failures among different critical infrastructure sectors, developing comprehensive emergency strategies to mitigate them is key to successful resilience.
