Dr Aisha Ali Gombe

Dr. Aisha Ali-Gombe is an associate professor of computer science and a cybersecurity researcher at Louisiana State University, where she founded and directs the System Security (SySec) Research Lab. Her research focuses on systems security, program and code analysis, memory forensics, and the integration of AI-driven techniques for cybersecurity and privacy applications. Dr. Ali-Gombe’s work advances runtime security observability across non-traditional systems, including mobile devices, IoT, embedded systems, and operational technology environments. She has developed innovative approaches for malware analysis, device-agnostic anomaly detection, intrusion detection, cybercrime investigations, and privacy evaluations. Additionally, Dr. Ali-Gombe leads LSU’s cybersecurity clinic initiative, expanding experiential security services into industrial and critical infrastructure sectors. Her research has been published in leading cybersecurity venues and supported by federal agencies such as the NSA and NSF, as well as industry partners such as Google.

From Threat Modeling and Risk Assessment to Secure Supply Chain, it’s making security a foundational characteristic from the initial concept and design phase, through development, deployment, operation, and eventual decommissioning.
