Chris Miller currently serves as the Outreach Team Leader for the PCII Program Office, where he helps manage the Program’s mission to secure and defend critical infrastructure information. Chris joined the Department of Homeland Security in 2016.
Congress established standards for protecting critical infrastructure information through the Critical Infrastructure Information Act (CII) of 2002.
In response, DHS created the PCII Program in 2004 to safeguard sensitive infrastructure information; voluntarily shared with the government for homeland security purposes, such as: Analyze and secure critical infrastructure and protected systems; identify vulnerabilities and develop risk assessments; and enhance recovery preparedness measures. PCII is a key part of efforts designed to protect the Nation’s critical infrastructure from physical and cyber-attacks. Once validated as PCII, the information is:
• Exempt from disclosure under (FOIA) Freedom of Information Act request
• Exempt from disclosure under State, local, tribal, or territorial disclosure laws
• PCII cannot be used in civil litigation
• PCII cannot be used to create policy or regulation

For 12 years before joining CISA/DHS, Mr. Miller was the Assistant Chief of Police and Chief of Detectives for DoD Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, which includes Ft Myer, VA; Ft McNair, DC; Henderson Hall Marine Base and Arlington National Cemetery. He is a decorated, career U.S. Army Soldier and middle east combat veteran, having served in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm and Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC.
In his spare time, Chris is a novice Film and Community Theatre actor and since 2014, is the stadium announcer for George Washington University’s D-1 Baseball Team.
