George Reeves serves as a Supervisory Cybersecurity Advisor (SCSA) for the US Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Region 6, in the greater Houston area supporting South Texas and New Mexico. His program works to foster collaboration and coordination on cyber preparedness, risk mitigation, and incident response, and to provide cybersecurity resources, including training, exercises, and assessments, in support of the nation’s Critical Infrastructure Key Resource sectors and with state and local governments.
Mr. Reeves is a former Federal Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and was responsible for managing cyber operations and investigations to detect, mitigate, and neutralize adversarial threats targeting the Air Force network and assets. Mr. Reeves served several assignments abroad in his 25-year service and deployed downrange on multiple occasions supporting the warfighter effort with stints in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, Mr. Reeves led multiple national level investigations initiated by the Presidential Office of the U.S. and the Secretary of the Defense.
Prior to joining CISA, Mr. Reeves held several positions within the corporate sector where he was responsible for identifying and monitoring advanced cyber threats, discovery of cyber vulnerabilities, and investigating global cybersecurity incidents. Mr. Reeves also served several years as a cybersecurity consultant where he supported complex civil and criminal investigations, electronic discovery, incident response, intellectual property, and large-scale internal investigations.
Mr. Reeves holds a Master of Science degree in Network Security, a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management, and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice. Additionally, Mr. Reeves is a Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), a Global Information Assurance Certified (GIAC) Incident Handler and certified in digital forensics.
