Marshal Wilson is Co-Director of the Southwest Border Food Protection and Emergency Preparedness Center (SWBFPEPC) and provides leadership from the New Mexico Department of Agriculture partner. In addition, Marshal Assistant Division Director for Agricultural Production Services and serves as the Emergency Support Function #11 coordinator for New Mexico. He has experience in production agriculture and is an active partner on a cattle ranch in Lincoln County. Marshal works to give overall leadership and expertise to planning, training and exercise program(s) focusing on agriculture and food systems.

    The Food & Agriculture Sector faces a myriad of threats and risks. Climate change, natural disasters, criminals, and geopolitical tensions can disrupt food production and distribution; having cascading effects on economies. Additionally, cyberattacks and supply chain vulnerabilities pose significant challenges to food and national security. To mitigate these risks, robust measures are essential, including: sustainable farming practices, resilient supply chains, critical infrastructure protection initiatives, and effective risk management strategies.
