Robert Crane is a Homeland Security professional for over 40 years, focusing on critical infrastructure resilience. In 2022, he joined the Institute for Homeland Security at Sam Houston State University as Program Executive. Previously, he retired from federal service as the U.S. GPS and PNT Resilience Advisor at the Department of Homeland Security. In that role, he coordinated national policy on space, GPS systems, and civil end-use, advising the Space-Based PNT Executive Committee and Advisory Board. Mr. Crane has held leadership roles in the Coast Guard, including Commander, participating in key operations like TWA 800 recovery and post-9/11 maritime security in the ports of Boston and NY/NJ. He has private sector experience in transportation, finance, oil & gas, and agriculture sectors. Crane holds a B.S., M.B.A., and CBCP certification, and serves as a board member of the Energy Security Council, and advisory member to coalitions on grid security, infrastructure resilience, and innovation. He also serves as an adjunct professor in business continuity and crisis management and as a strategic advisor to 2 other universities.
